Reading isn’t just something we do every so often; it’s part of our formation.
Whether you are reading for pleasure, for education, or for inspiration—reading opens up our minds to different ideas, other’s experiences, and may even help us see our own path forward in the world.
I’ve been an avid reader all my life, though I’m a fairly slow one. And I’ve hardly ever shared the books I read with my online community, partly because, I was in a tender place and was afraid of being judged for the books I read and like. (Sometimes internet people aren’t the nicest you know?)
But here in the Library, I’m sharing some of my favorite reads. I’ll share them by category on my Bookshop.org “Store front”, and then I’ll post my thoughts and discussion threads from time to time here for Paying Subscribers. (The list of books I’m loving will always remain free.)
Bookshop.org is an online place to buy books that actually supports small local independent bookstores, as well as small authors like me through their affiliate program. So, without any additional cost to you, if you buy from any of the links in my library, you’ll also be helping to support me in my writing work here at the House of Rest so it’s a WIN, WIN, WIN in my opinion.
Just click the link below to check out what I’ve got in the library so far! (I’ll be adding to it all the time—so far you can check out some of my current reads, my fantasy romance book club picks, and a category I’ve entitled; “books that changed my mind.”
Additionally, in this “Library” space, I hope to begin posting book reviews and discussions of books I’ve loved, as well as *eventually* hosting a virtual book club here in this space. I’ll let you know as soon as I have my time table nailed down for that portion of this virtual room.
I’m so glad you are here House of Rest readers; my prayer is that our conversations around books (both serious and totally not) will help us begin to name what aches, so that we can lean into the rest of God.
With warmest affection,
Grace E. Kelley
I always love visiting libraries, so thank you for sharing yours!
